Global video game commerce company, Xsolla, has announced a collaboration with AbleGamers for a charitable initiative at TwitchCon 2024, aimed at improving accessibility in gaming for people with disabilities. This partnership will feature an interactive campaign designed to raise funds and awareness for AbleGamers, a charity that helps gamers with disabilities by fostering inclusivity and developing assistive technologies.
The campaign, which will take place at Xsolla’s booth (Booth 1515-SW), offers TwitchCon attendees the chance to collect one of two limited-edition charity pins. The pins are specially designed, with 1,000 featuring Xsolla’s iconic Cat logo and another 1,000 created in collaboration with Lightstream, a platform focused on live streaming technology. These exclusive items are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Attendees can further contribute by sharing a photo of their pin on social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, using the hashtags #LightstreamAble and #XsollaAble. For each qualifying post, Xsolla and its partners will donate $5 to AbleGamers, with the total contribution capped at $10,000. The campaign aims to generate significant social media engagement and raise funds for the charity’s initiatives. Participants are also encouraged to include additional hashtags such as #TwitchCon, #BongoCat, and #SoEveryoneCanGame to amplify the campaign’s reach.
Berkley Egenes, Xsolla’s Chief Marketing & Growth Officer, expressed the company’s excitement about the collaboration: “We’re thrilled to partner with AbleGamers at TwitchCon 2024 to support their mission of making gaming more accessible for everyone. By engaging with our booth and sharing their experiences online, attendees collect a unique piece of Xsolla and Lightstream memorabilia while contributing directly to the gaming community. It’s an incredible opportunity to connect the gaming community with a cause that promotes inclusivity and empowerment.”
The funds raised through the campaign will directly support AbleGamers’ key initiatives, which focus on making gaming more inclusive for people with disabilities. The charity provides peer counselling to help assess individual needs and determine the best assistive technology solutions for gamers. Additionally, AbleGamers supports engineering research to develop new technologies that can remove barriers and make gaming more accessible. The organisation also works to combat social isolation by building community connections and fostering friendships among disabled gamers.
The partnership between Xsolla and AbleGamers aligns with both organisations’ shared vision of an inclusive gaming world. AbleGamers’ mission, “So Everyone Can Game,” underscores the importance of accessibility in the video game industry, ensuring that individuals with disabilities can enjoy gaming without obstacles.
